P112RGS was new to Blazefield Holdings Ltd for their Sovereign operation, then based in Stevenage, on 12th February1997.
We at Eastern Bus Enthusiasts decided to purchase this vehicle for it’s DELAINE Buses connection.
DELAINE Buses of Bourne, Lincolnshire purchased P112RGS in November 2003 and given fleet number 138. It was refurbished into Delaine house style at Blackburn, Lancashire by S&T which was then a subsidiary of East Lancashire Coachbuilders dealing with PSV refurbishments and re-sprays. Their premises in Blackburn is now occupied by Bus and Coach world trading in the same lines.
The interior consisted of replacing the seats with house style red frames, cushions and squabs trimmed in tartan moquette with red vinyl . The grey floor was replaced with Brown Treadmaster, GRP Components re-coloured in brown and the dashboard area in black.
The exterior was a straightforward replacement of damaged panels and a re-spray, the destination blind was replaced with a one-piece Delaine electric roller blind.
It was withdrawn May 2010 (the last step-entrance single decker in the fleet) outlasting the two East Lancs bodied Volvo B10M’s new to Delaine and the other Wright bodied B10B, P87SAF. sold to Quantock Motor Services, Norton Fitzwarren who painted it Red, Maroon & Cream keeping the same livery pattern as Delaine.
When Quantock ceased trading in 2014 the bus passed to West Kent buses where it was re-painted into single maroon and cream with gold Fleetnames. In May 2017 it was sold to Eastern Bus Enthusiasts in great condition for restoration into Delaine standard.
